At Active, we have the ability and opportunity to make more of a positive impact than ever before.
Active is focusing on supporting the creation of an inclusive, safe workplace, where employees feel enabled to fulfil their own capabilities and progress in their career in a supportive environment. It will also feature a formal policy for apprenticeships and internships that will allow people in the local community to access high quality training and on the job learning to develop a career in workplace solutions and facilities management.
Active commits to keeping our carbon emissions as low as possible. We also commit to offering sustainable alternatives as part of our solutions, including sustainable products and reuse/recycle schemes.
Active partners with the local community and charities to support collective engagement to benefit society. Active also encourages and works with its supply chain to ensure that as many stakeholders as possible benefit from our investment into sustainability.
Active recognises our ability to make a real difference in the commercial space industry with regards to supporting the environment. We have embedded the sustainability strategy Unlocking Potential into every area of our business. It aims to unlock capabilities for supporting the planet through the three pillars of People, Places and Partnerships.
We invest in sustainability and hold ourselves and our stakeholders accountable. Every year we report against our long-term goals and short term actions. You can read our latest progress report here.
With offices producing a wide range of waste, where do you turn to when the time comes to replace old items?
Active Workplace Group are committed to sustainable office clearances – providing one of the UK’s leading furniture resale, reuse and recycling services.
As an ISO:14001 Environmental Management accredited business, we have a responsibility to promote sustainability to ensure that the waste we produce (or come into contact with) during our work is cleared in the most ecologically friendly way possible.
“Active delivered for us on all levels. They have high standards in their communications and work ethics…”
Just as in private sector industries, the post-pandemic reality
of hybrid working has highlighted and enabled space efficiencies within the NHS. After careful consideration, a need was identified to relocate 40 people from another building.
Active undertook pre-move site surveys, project planning and crate management whilst liaising closely with the project team within the NHS. Active were able to donate most of the desks and equipment to local charities ensuring 95% was re-purposed, with the remaining items being broken down and sustainably disposed of.
At Active we recognise that our Scope 3 or third-party emissions contribute massively to our carbon footprint. To combat this, we insist that all contracted partners commit to minimum standards of sustainable practice. We also work with our trading partners to help them improve their own sustainability to deliver the ripple effect of sustainable benefits.
